Cycle the City
This cycle tour takes you through the heart of Cape Town, with guided commentary on everything you need to know about the city centre. You will start off in Green Point with a gentle cycle along the beachfront, before making your way along a maze of cycle paths to the quaint, colourful distract of Bo Kaap. You will travel through the leafy shade of the Company’s Gardens, surrounded by a canopy of oak trees and curious squirrels. You will cycle past ‘Desmond Tutu’s Cathedral,’ and the bustling, vibrant Green Market Square – a great place to come back for curios! The scent of flowers from the Adderley Street Flower Sellers will travel to meet you several blocks before Trafalgar Square – as it has for more than 150 years. You’ll pass the Grand Parade; the scene of some of Nelson Mandela’s historic speeches, and the towering fortress of the five-pointed stone Castle; the oldest building in South Africa. This is an excellent way to explore the layout of the city without getting too lost!
A gentle cycle along the sea front of Green Point, past the World Cup 2010 Stadium then along a network of cycle paths for a pushbike through the Bo Kaap and the Company Gardens past ‘Desmond Tutu’s Cathedral’, Green Market Square and the Flower Sellers.
