For the fifth time in a row Cape Town has been voted as the best city in the world. This was the result of a poll of 90 000 readers of the 2017 Telegraph travel awards. The readers voted for a city full of sporty activities, beautiful surrounding nature and endless coastlines and beaches. Social and stylish people moving around through the day and night. Delicious foods served across plenty of stylish restaurants. The famous South African produced wines and of course the wildlife to explore while on a budget African safari. And all of this in a lovely climate.
The mother city, surrounded by the iconic Table Mountain, came out top over Vancouver, Tokyo, Venice, Sydney, New York, Seville, Florence, San Francisco and Rome.
