The Nelson Mandela International Day is the annual day in honor of Nelson Mandela. It is celebrated each year on Mandela’s birthday, the 18 July. The day is not meant as just another public holiday, no it is meant as a day to honor Nelson Mandela’s legacy. It is a call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world, that everyone has the ability to make an impact. Each year, on July the 18th, we look back on what has been done, and we look forward to what will be done. Mandela spent 67 years making the world a better place. On this day people are devoting 67 minutes of their time to make a small gesture of solidarity.
