Abseiling and Kloofing Tour

This full day action packed adventure will take you through some of the Western Cape’s most beautiful scenery in the Kogelberg Nature reserve. Also know as Crystal Pool, this full day adventure will take you hiking, swimming, abseiling down a waterfall and if your brave enough, cliff jumping.

The day starts with a hike through the Steenbras River Gorge to find the first of the cliff jumping pools! You’ll spend an hour swimming or jumping from various heights, before hiking to the top of the gorge to tackle the waterfall abseil. After the abseil you’ll relax on the banks of the river for a lunch, before hiking back down to the pools for another hour of cliff jumping and swimming, before making your way back to Sunbird Lodge for sundowners and a light dinner.

This exciting trip is ideal for novice and seasoned adrenaline junkies, and will test your bravery and leave you exhilarated.

Abseiling and Kloofing Tour in Crystal Pools

Your day starts with meeting your adventure junky guides at our office 297 Long street and from there leave for Gordons Bay and stop over at the Sunbird Lodge.

Enjoy a full breakfast, followed by a safety briefing by one of our guides. Once everyone is ready we start our hike into the Gorge. Our guides will instruct you in the art of ko also known as Canyoning. None of the jumps are compulsory and you will also enjoy a delicious lunch just before you take on our 45m Waterfall Abseil. Jumps will range between 3m for beginners and 24m for the slightly insane ones. Once you have completed the abseil and desired jumps you will hike back to the Sunbird Lodge and enjoy Dinner with a nice cold one!

What to bring with:
Swimsuit, Water, Towel, Backpack, Hat, Sunglasses, Wear Comfortable Shoes and Clothes (May have to bring clean clothes with) During winter we can supply wetsuits.

Things to know:
We meet at our office 297 Long street at 7am and we operate on a daily basis weather permitting. A min of 4 pax to confirm this trip. Transport provided to and from our office and 3 meals (You will need to specify dietary requirements)

The Abseil and Kloofing experience is a Full day trip and includes:

  • Return transport from our offices in Cape Town
  • A hearty breakfast
  • Packed lunch
  • Light dinner with a cold one to wash it down
  • A guided hike with qualified guides
  • Cliff jumping : 3 – 24 meter high jumps
