Getting a little tired of all the usual views of Cape Town? How about checking out the view from the air? Tandem paragliding straps you to an experienced pilot and a specially designed free flying aircraft, and with a little run-up, launches you from Lion’s Head into the clear blue Cape Town sky. Ride the thermals up over what was recently voted the most beautiful city in the world, pretend to be a bird, a plane; and don’t forget to smile for the camera! You’re aiming for a cushioned touch down on the grass between Clifton and Camps Bay beach, but if you overshoot and land on the sand, even softer. Chances are you’ll want to head straight back up the hill and start over!
Where do we fly from?
Standard paragliding flights are from Lions Head and Signal Hill in Cape Town and further out of Cape Town in Hermanus.
Cross-country paragliding flights are from Porterville and Sir Lowry’s Pass.
Where do we land?
From Lions Head landing is between Camps Bay and Clifton beaches on the grass in front of The Bungalow, sometimes you will land on Camps Bay beach, but local security isn’t too keen on this and threatens to lock up our pilots.
From Signal Hill you will either top land back on Signal Hill or you will land on the famous Sea Point promenade.
