3. Whale watching
Why not join on a boat based whale watching tour? Along with Hump Back Whales, Southern Right Whales, and Brydes Whales, you might also get a chance to see the majestic Blue whale as it swims in beautifully in the ocean. This event takes place every first Thursday of the month on long street and Bree Street, multiple artists come to share their art on the street late at night. Bar’s and restaurants tag along with the vibe as everyone fills up the street and vibrant energy is shared between people around art, food, and drinks.
6. Stand up comedy
Looking for a good laugh? The Cape Town comedy club will serve you a good dose of laughter. With a wide variety of stand up comedians performing on the daily, you can be sure that it will be a joyful evening. The price range is between 50 and 120 rands, the prices vary depending on the day of the week and/or seating arrangements. A restaurant and a bar are also at your disposal, so you can enjoy the show in the best conditions. The comedy club even has it’s own beer Jou Ma Se Brew, found only at the bar and nowhere else!
7. Two Oceans Aquarium
Want to spend an enjoyable day and be in awe in front of amazing marine wildlife, then the two oceans aquarium is where you should be. Situated in Waterfront, the aquarium is considered to be like a window into the waters surrounding South African coast. Home to over 3000 creatures, from fishes with vibrant colors, seahorses, stingrays, crabs, penguins and even a jellyfish gallery which is sure to impress you.
8. Long street Turkish baths.
In an old building dating back to 1900s at the top of long street, is where you can find the Turkish baths of Cape Town. Equipped with a sauna, a hot room, stream room but also an incredible 25m indoor heated swimming pool. If you want to spend a relaxing day, this is definitely the place to go.
9. Iziko Museums
While in Cape Town learning about the rich cultural heritage is very important. What better way to do so than to go visit a museum? Iziko museums is a group of national museums situated near the city center also referred to as the city’s Mile Museum. There are 14 museums to be visited some home to important African zoology, paleology and archaeology collections. Visiting all of the museums might take a while but you will certainly learn a lot.
10. Craft beer tours
Cape Town which is considered the craft beer capital of South Africa offers amazing craft beer tours. During which, beer tasting from different breweries will be on the schedule. Starting from the oldest breweries to some of the modern-day microbreweries. It will be a great opportunity to taste beer from brands like Black label and castle to interesting craft beers like Dark Dog, Double Owl or Blind Mole. The local guide will explain and point out interesting things for you to see as well as share knowledge and cool stories about beer.
