ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe has spent a lot of time in the spot light for all the wrong reasons, but as a travel destination it really is one of the top Southern African destinations. With its sunning landscapes and its abundance and variety of wildlife, including the big 5, it really is an ideal overland destination experience.

Hwange National Park

Zimbabwe’s most diverse park also contains one of the largest elephant populations in the world. At approximately 15000 square kilometres, it sits on the North West corner of the country and forms part of Kalahari Basin. Hwange National Park was home to Cecil the lion for 14 years before he was tragically and illegally hunted!

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is both the name of the town, and the famous waterfall. Often referred to as “The Smoke that Thunders” because of the water spray that can often be seen reaching up to a kilometre in the sky, this mighty waterfall stretches over 1 kilometre long and up to 100 meters high and is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The town boasts local markets and adrenalin activities galore. From white water rafting, to bungy jumping, to scenic flights over the falls, to luxury spas, the town of Victoria Falls truly has something for everyone.

Zimbabwe’s stunning beauty, amazing rock formations, the great Zambezi river and of course Victoria Falls make for one of the most interesting countries you could want to explore. We have a list of tours below that will cover all your African overland or budget safari needs.
